Our customs broker Arvydas Vaicius shares a practical example. The client’s cargo is worth €35,000, subject to €400 in customs duties and €6,100 in delivery costs. However, as the necessary documents were not submitted until after the cargo had arrived, an additional €600 was spent on temporary storage – a cost that could have been avoided.

 

Two key factors could have ensured a smoother process:

1. Providing all documents in advance.
2. Consultation with the customs broker at the beginning of the process.
